Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm 205 Insaisissable, 235 Mischievous Review and Swatch

Ok! I know I am too late to review them. By now you can find the swatches and review all over the internet. I was too hesitant at first to buy them mainly because I already own Relvon Just Bitten Kissable Balm which I hardly used. So, buying something just for the sake of review or adding it to my collection does not make sense.

Every time I go to the Revlon counter I swatch them and think, “hmm nice, but I don’t need them”. You know the drill, how long can you control your temptation? I gave up and ended up buying two share from the matte range 205 Elusive Insaisissable and  235 Mischievous Malicieuse.

Velvety Matte Look. Moisture Rich Balm
A Matte finish that’s beyond plush. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 10 collectible, craveable colors.

Price: INR 800/2.7gms

My take on the product:

I am a traditional lipstick lover, but something that makes your everyday routine interesting always appeals to me. This format of lipstick was started by Revlon and soon caught by other brands. The packing is like chubby stick also know as jumbo lip pencil. Packaging is matte just to be in sync with the matte formula.
The balms are pigmented, you don’t need to apply it multiple times to get color on to your lips. Post application it leaves minty/peppermint  sensation and smell, which is not annoying in any way, but I am not a big fan. The earlier launch Relvon Just Bitten Kissable Balm’s had the same feeling to it.
The longevity of the product is good four to five hours. That’s the standard time for all the lip products on me mainly because I sneeze a lot. And, while rubbing my nose some product is bound to transfer on to the tissue. Moving on to the shade selection, I love the colors, but not all of them are wearable. The variety of shades available in US in comparison is more.

If you love matte lips, then go for it. They are easy to carry and apply. Its like modern twist to the traditional lipsticks. If you are on hunt for something new, do check them out. Don’t forget the fact that other brands do have their version of chubby sticks, but none of them have matte version.

PS: Revlon India website is not updated since ages. I don’t know why such big brands don’t find it important to have website’s specially in India.  I got complete product info from Revlon US website.
