L’Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Deep Boosting Essence Review

On a quest, searching for a dupe of my holy grail moisturizer, here I am with L’Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Deep Boosting Essence. I have been using Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel for about two years now. I am almost done with the 2nd bottle which says a lot. Clinique products are on the expensive side, so I am searching for a budget and skin friendly dupe in this category. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to give this a try.

Product Description:

Triple Lock-in moisture of 3 Hyaluronic Acids and Pure French SPA water that helps diffuse water into multiple layers of skin.

• Triple Hyaluronic Acid technology: Moisture is continuously diffused through the skin and locked at several layers
• Breakable Vitamin E beads: Protect skin from external aggressions
• Pure French Spa water: Boosts skin’s natural ability to lock in more moisture
• Provides 48 hrs of hydration.

Packaging is the first thing I gravitate towards. This stands true from makeup, bags to what goes in my kitchen shelf. So L’Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Deep Boosting Essence was my first obvious choice when I started looking for my holy grail dupe.  Secondly, the product comes in a pump, which makes it hygienic to reuse. There are other skin care products I own which comes in a jar. No matter how much I remind myself to use a spatula. I end up dipping my fingers in the jar on those lazy days. Conclusion, any product that comes in the pump format wins in the packaging department.

Now moving to the real thing, formula. The consistency of the moisturizer is like gel in texture. Once in contact with the skin, gel starts melting to watery consistency. This makes the moisturizer slide on smoothly and gets absorbed quickly. The blue beads in the moisturizer is vitamin E beads, which melts once I massage the moisturizer. It does not take more than 3 mins for my skin to drink the hydration from the moisturizer. The hydration stays on throughout the day. L’Oreal claims to provide 48 hours of hydration, which I could not test.

My skin type is normal during winter. However, there are patches of dry skin on my cheeks. This combination of dry patches with normal overall skin type makes it difficult to find a moisturizer which can treat both. L’Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Deep Boosting Essence has proven to moisturize my skin no matter how weird my skin type is.

My preferred way of application:
I prefer to use it as a primer before makeup as it makes the skin smooth for makeup application. It’s just like applying silicone primer. By the way, I could not find silicon mentioned in the ingredients list.

Like the name suggests, it has fresh scent to it. Nothing too strong that can irritate sensitive skin. Also, it has not made me break out. This again is a positive sign.

Did it improve the overall skin quality?
I can see the difference in the way my skin looks and feels post application. However, I cannot say if it has improved my skin quality/texture due to pro-longed used.

Overall Rating: 4/5

L’Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Deep Boosting Essence performs to what it claims. It has Triple Hyaluronic Acid technology which provides hydration that defuses water through the skin. Definitely a light weight moisturizer which moisturize the skin without making it shine like a disco ball.
