Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse Foundation Swatches and Review

Recently on my Youtube visit I found a roadblock advertisement, Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse Foundation. Who likes advertisement while watching videos? Few of them do have an option to skip the ad. This advertisement on Youtube did not have that option.
Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse Foundation advertisement:

I don’t use foundation for everyday use. It was so catchy I could not resist, but buy the product. Tag line of the product: Makeup that doesn’t look made up.

This foundation was launched somewhere in mid of 2012. The time when mousse foundations were trending and BB creams later took over it. Unfortunately, I never had an opportunity to try such products out. So, I just wanted to try it out.

Feather-light finish easily blends into the skin keeping it healthy, hides pores & evens out skin tones. The new SPF 8 formula protects the skin from sun damage, leaving it peachy-soft & naturally flawless for up to 16 hours.

  • SPF 8*
  • Feather light texture
  • Stays up to 16 hours

The packaging is unique and nothing that I have ever come across. It is defiantly beautiful, but not practical. When majority of the products in your travel vanity are either stick or tube, round object seems to not fit with others. It is not bulky, but probably having it in a tube would have made it travel friendly.

Second, most noticeable fact about the packaging is hygiene. The tub has a stopper which will not necessarily do its job of holding the product tightly in the tub. You will experience some amount of product popping out of the stopper.

The best part of the formula is the texture. It feels soft and gentle on the skin. Because of the texture it blends well with the fingers. You don’t really want a specific brush for this. Also, the foundation gives light to medium coverage. As the name suggest its matte formula so is best suited for combinational to oily skin.

I have tried the foundation several times now and can definitely say I love the texture and would use it on regular basics. The texture is lighter than BB cream, having said that I really don’t know why would someone prefer BB cream over it?

It keeps my oily skin shine free for about four hours. Post that I do find oil seeping through near my nose area. After five to six hours, my Tzone is oily and I do need to apply powder to keep shine at bay.
To get the best coverage I would definitely recommend it to be used with power foundation. Specially when you require higher coverage on blemishes.

  • Unique packaging
  • Best for combinational to oily skin
  • Available in 6 shared and is specially meant for Indian skin tones
  • Light weight
  • Reasonably priced

  • Non travel friendly packaging
  • Light to medium coverage
  • Does not last upto 16 hours as mentioned on the package

I have mixed feelings for the packaging. For some it would attract them to ,buy and use it but for few non travel friendly packaging with be a detractor.

  • Lasting ability: 4/5
  • Availability: 5/5
  • Value for money: 4.5/5

Overall rating: 4.44/5

I do like the product and would continue to use it. If you have tried other mousse foundation that suits you then, I don’t think you should buy this. However, for me it was my first mousse foundation, so far so good. I would definitely recommend it for those who are new to makeup and want minimal coverage for day to day wear.

Overall it is a fancy looking product, which is low maintenance.
