Lakmé 9 to 5 Mattifying Super Sunscreen + SPF 50 PA +++ Review

Hi Everyone,

Rainy season has just started here and if you’re wondering that talking about sunscreen at this time of year makes no sense, then think again. I can’t emphasize any more on how important sunscreen is. The most common myth around is that sunscreen is not needed when it is cloudy. Well that is so not true. 80% of the ultraviolet sun rays can pass through clouds. So you know now, sunscreen is an evergreen product when it comes to skincare and is not seasonal

Today I am going to review my latest fav Lakmé 9 to 5 Mattifying Super Sunscreen. Having said that I guess you know what I am going to conclude about the product.

Product description:

Specifically designed for oily skin with oil control benefits, its non-sticky formula leaves your skin feeling non-greasy. SPF 50 PA +++ fights against the harsh UVA and UVB rays to protect your skin from tanning and sunburns. Flaunt your flawless even toned skin this summer!

Price: INR 500 for 30ml

Packaging:

Lakmé 9 to 5 Mattifying Super Sunscreen comes in a sleek plastic bottle with the pump at the top to dispense the product. The quality of the packaging is not that great. Biggest drawback with the packaging is the pump. Because the consistency of the formula is too thick, packaging is not appropriate for the product.
After certain use I literally had to open the top and dip my finger in the bottle to get the product out.  I would have preferred the old fashioned squeeze tube without any complaint. 😐

Formula:

There are two variants available, I selected the mattifying one because of my oily skin (specially during summer). The formula is thick in consistency which does not clog pores. It easily spreads over the skin and within few minutes skin absorbs the product leaving the face matte and ready for sun exposure 🙂

I am also pleased that the product mentions Broad Spectrum. As per FDA guidelines one should look for broad spectrum and minimum of SPF 15 in a sunscreen. Which means complete protection from UVA and UVB rays.

I have tried other sunscreens and by far this one is the best one. The only flip side is the packaging. Pump does not work well with thick consistency.
