Today I am going to review La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Face Wash, which I have been using from past 3 months. I could not decide on exactly how I feel about it. Hopefully I will try my best to conclude my stand about the product.
A facial wash for oily skin. Gently cleanses the skin thanks to its high tolerance foaming power. Helps to eliminate impurities and excess sebum, leaving the skin feeling clean and fresh. Contains La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water. Can also be used as a body wash.
Use every morning and/or evening. Wet your hands, then take a small amount of gel and work up a lather. Apply to the face, massaging gently. Rinse well with water.
La Roche-Posay follows strict formulations standards:
– 100% hypoallergenic skincare
– High concentration of selected active ingredients with soothing Thermal Spring Water
– Minimal ingredients and fragrance
– Tested on the most sensitive skin
– Packaging minimises all forms of micro-bacterial contamination

My opinion about the product:
Before I start expressing my option about the product, let me specify my skin type. I have combination to oily skin during summer, which is my current skin type. However, I had bought this face wash in January. I remember my skin being dry at that time, so I think I would be able to give you my opinion based on the usage during different skin conditions.
Starting with the packaging like aways, Foaming Gel Face Wash comes in a huge squeeze tube with a flip cap. I find this type of packaging best for any kind of product which has runny consistency, example sunscreen, face wash, etc.
The face-wash formula has runny gel like consistency. It’s not too thick neither to liquidy, something which falls exactly in between. I hope I make some sense here. Check the swatch below for better understanding of the consistency.
I follow exactly the same application method as mentioned on La Roche-Posay website, which is lathering the face wash with the water and then applying it all over the face. Direct face application does not make as much lather as I would like. The face-wash feels fresh and gentle on the face. It does not suck out all the oil making my face dry. This is my experience both while I had dry as well as oily skin. It is perfect for those with sensitive skin and who would like feel clean without sucking out the moisture from the skin.
I prefer to use the face wash only in the morning. This is the time when I want to wake up my skin gently. In the evening I prefer something that lathers a lot and could remove heavy-duty makeup.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Highly recommended for those with sensitive skin. This works on both dry and oily skin, but not for those who are extremely oily. This is slowly becoming part of my morning routine and must admit that I like it. However, it’s expensive for a face wash and I am not sure if I can commit to the product. I am hunting for a cheaper alternative and will keep you guys posted on that.
PS: Yesterday I went shopping, which is very rare. I find online shopping is better, but when it comes to clothes I find it very tricky. Size and material are very difficult to understand online. Anyway, keeping all that aside, I could not believe how expensive clothing is nowadays. Everything I bought was equivalent to high end makeup product.
Buying makeup from US is also expensive now because INR is constantly losing value 🙁
