I am an absolute eyeshadow addict!! There are hardly any drugstore brands providing good quality eye shadows in India. Sad to say, but that is true. Recently on my visit to Beauty Shop I spotted Essence counter, nothing that would entice me, but wait a minute what is that palette? Yes!!! an affordable interesting eye shadow palette. There is goes straight into my bag 😉
Price: INR 399/8.5g
Essence all about sunrise palette comes in a sturdy plastic case which does not look cheap in any way. Unlike a lot of other high end/drugstore palettes this one does not come with an applicator. It always best to not add sponge tip applicator because no one uses them. They make the palette look cheap and consume unwanted space. So thank you Essence for not adding applicator/brush with the palette.
Moving on with the colors, the palette has six beautiful warm shades. With no name given for individual shades in the palette. Never mind, let me talk about the texture: it is soft like butter with different effect ranging from satin to shimmer to frost. The pigmentation is very good, these are Essence’s best eye-shadows so far, considering both softness, texture and color payoff. Only thing that is missing in the palette is a matte eye shadow that is a must for me while blending the shadows in the crease. So this palette cannot be a solo performer. One more point is worth mentioning is the glitter in all the shadows which tends to create fallout, but not to an extent where you would avoid using them. Also, they don’t last more than 6 hours without primer on my oily lids, which is good performance for an eye-shadow which is so buttery smooth.
Overall, I am impressed with Essence ‘All About Sunrise’ Palette. This has been the most affordable palette right now with good pigmentation and great color selection. This palette has tempted me to buy ‘all about candy’ and ‘all about nude’ palette from Essence. So keep your eyes open for a huge Essence haul soon.
