Colorbar Just Smoky Kajal 004 Just Teal review and swatch

Colorbar is one of the most affordable drugstore/high street brands in India. Their new launches are exciting and I always want to try them all.  Initially when a product is launched they are priced reasonably and later it increases. I have mainly noticed this sales strategy adopted by Colorbar.

During my last visit to beauty shop I located a new display on the Colorbar counter. Obviously, I was interested and this new launch is a 3-in-1 eyeliner/kajal. You can either use it as an eye liner, kajal or an eye shadow. The concept and the swatches were so freaking amazing that I could not control ,but buy it. Before I complete the entire review of the product in the introduction, its time for me to stop.

This velvety & super intense smoke kajal comes with a perfect smudge-tip applicator for blending and creating dramatic smokey eyes.

  • Waterproof eye pencil that stays up to 12 hrs
  • Can be used as kajal, eyeliner and eye shadow
  • Intense and excellent color pay-off
  • Opthalmologically and Dermatologically approved

Price: INR650/1.2gms

The 3 in 1 eye liner comes in a pencil format with pencil on one end and smudge tip on the other. I am not very found of smudger as it can be harsh on the eyelids, but pencil by itself is fantastic. The only flip side of the packaging is that I have to sharpen it 🙁  I don’t want to waste such beautiful product by sharpening it.

It also comes with a tiny piece of paper which gives steps to create various looks using the Colorbar just smoky kajal.

The texture of the eye pencil is velvety soft which can be smeared within seconds. Once it sets, which is hardly 3~4 seconds it will not budge at all. The product glides on so smoothly that you won’t even realize the application.

There are five shades available in this line and I had swatched all of them on my hand. Even if I got only one of them, there was no inconsistency in the product with the variation in the shades.  The quality of the product remains standard though the shades.
Its a 3-in-1 product as I mentioned before. To apply it like an eye shadow you need to soften (smudge) it immediately using your fingers. By softening it I do not mean reducing the intensity of the color. This makes me talk about the pigmentation. Pigmentation is top-notch. I have never tried Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil, but after using this I don’t feel the need to source it.

As claimed on the packaging it is waterproof and stays on my eyes without budging for eight hours straight. After five hours it starts fading, but is still bright and intact. Since I have oily lids the staying power might be lower than one who has normal to dry lids.  It also promises to be waterproof hence using normal makeup remover does not help. I need to  use waterproof makeup remover to get every bit of it of my skin.

It is the best kajal I have come across and such good quality product from Colorbar. In one sentence I would say its smooth, pigmented, smudge proof and long lasting product. Its has and does everything that you would ever want from an eyeliner/kajal.

  1. Does a fake colorbar just smokey kajal comes ? Because i ‘ve purchased it and its staying power is not upto 12 hours and also removal process is also not tough it gets easily removed and when smudger is useda rubbery kind of thing comes out and if smudged for a bit longer the whole kajal get disappears
