I always want to try each and every new foundation out there. During my last visit to Sephora I could not resist grabbing Dior foundation, which obvious made me stay away from Cinique beyond perfection foundation. I did swatch the Clinique one, but dropped my plan because it was too thick for my liking. And here I am finally talking about it.
A foundation-and-concealer in one for a natural, beyond perfected look that lasts all day. Lightweight, moisturizing makeup covers thoroughly without clogging pores. Skin breathes comfortably, colour stays true, even through sweat and humidity.

My Take on the Product:
The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a huge doe foot applicator. This reminds me of MAC select moisture cover concealer wand. In fact, it’s very much comparable to any concealer wand you have used. I would have continued to enjoy the packaging if the plastic holder on top of the bottle wouldn’t have broken. This has caused the foundation to leak and makes the cap all messy every time I close the bottle. Also, I am not sure how will I use last bit of foundation in the bottle as wand won’t be able to scoop everything out.
Consistency of the foundation is thick. Surprisingly this does not make blending difficult at all. It blends easily giving medium coverage. There is a faint smell nothing that would bother someone who is sensitive to such products. Like it claims, it does give natural look all day. I have worn this foundation for over 12 hours and have seen it last beautifully for over 8 hours with minimal fading. I have combo skin and this makes my skin get oily, which means touch up is required throughout the day. Although it gets oily there are dry patches on the face to which the foundation clings on to. So, this definitely does not look like something that would work for dry skin. I have to moisturize my skin well to make sure that the foundation does not hold on to dry patches, which is caused due to acne treatment.
How does it work as a concealer?
Although the product claims to be 2 in 1, I do not prefer it at all as concealer. It does give good coverage, which is one thing that I would like from a concealer. However, it creases immediately after application and no setting powder could prevent it. So, definitely not a 2 in 1 product for me.
Overall Rating: 3.5/5
Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer 2 in 1 works very well as a foundation. It gives natural finish, blends well to give medium to full coverage and is long lasting. However, does not stand a change to multi task as a concealer. Packaging is one a big disaster. Forget about being travel friendly, I am not able to store it in my makeup drawer 🙁
Would have recommended the foundation if packaging was not a huge problem.
