Hi everyone,

If you have oily skin and have tried millions of products to help balance oiliness, then this is the product meant for you. After reading about this much raved brand, and this product especially, I finally decide to give it a try.

At the beginning, I was apprehensive with this ironic idea of applying oil on my face to treat the oil problem. I was also already grappling to oil my hair every week. I never wanted to spend a lot on some oil which eventually would end up into my skincare stash. I wondered if this will actually help? To my surprise I discovered gold for my skin in a small bottle called Clarins Face Treatment Oil.

Products claim:

Purifying treatment oil hydrates, tones and balances oily skin types. Clarins’ exclusive concentrate of Rosewood, Geranium and Lotus extracts tightens pores and refines the skin texture. Hazelnut Oil softens, soothes and seals in moisture to minimizes the appearance of fine lines. Non-staining. Preservative-free.

Price: INR 2425 for 30ml

How to use:

In the evening, after thorough cleansing and toning, apply a small amount to face and neck still damp with Toning Lotion, avoiding the eye contour. Gently dab face with a soft tissue to remove any excess product.

My take on the product:

Clarins Face Treatment Oil comes in a transparent glass bottle with pipet which dispenses accurate amount of the product, avoiding any wastage. The glass bottle is not heavy but if you have butter fingers then please beware. Packaging is fragile and not travel friendly.

There are 3 variations of this product for different skin types:

  • Santal Face Treatment Oil for dry skin
  • Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil for normal skin
  • Lotus Face Treatment Oil for oily skin

Be it any type of skin, there is something for everyone in the store.

If I have to describe Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil in one word I would call it a Miracle. You just need 2 drops and that’s all. Rub the oil in your palms and dab it gently onto your face and neck. Post application gently pat your face to increase blood circulation. Within no time it gets absorbed leaving no oily residue on your skin. The oil has strong but very pleasant fragrance. You can compare its relaxing aroma to a spa’s. Its smell calms even Mr. J when worked up.

Early morning mirror analysis concludes visibly reduced pore size, my face feels pampered, and is no longer oil reservoir.

Clarins face treatment oil is now staple in my night skincare routine. And as of now is the only oil I enjoy applying. I got this in November 2013 and have been using it every alternate day since then. With just two effective drops, you can see the amount used in last 3 months and should easily go on for a year.

Important Ingredients:
Rosewood, Geranium, Lotus and Hazelnut Oil
